Chris Daniel is a native Houstonian, born to the son of a Baptist minister from Arkansas, and a Dutch immigrant mother from the Caribbean. Civic minded at an early age, Chris is an Eagle Scout, a perennial volunteer for non-profits such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, The Houston Food Bank, and Target Hunger, and a member of Rotary. Chris graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in Mechanical Engineering with a business minor in 2005, and from Night Law School from South Texas College of Law with a specialization in patent law in 2010. After researching and designing oilfield tool and managing projects in the oil business, Chris became involved in the field of Intellectual Property and Patent Law.
Chris Daniel first became involved with politics during the State and National Conventions for the Republican Party at Houston, in 1992. Beginning with conservative groups such as Citizens for an Alternative Tax System and Fair Tax, Chris learned the ropes of grassroots conservatism, eventually becoming a delegate to the 2004 Republican National Convention—the youngest from Texas. Since then Chris has become a precinct chair for precinct 518, and committee member for Young Republicans and the Candidates Committee.
In November of 2006, Chris Daniel defeated the Board Chair of Lone Star College System (formerly North Harris Montgomery Community College District), to become one of the youngest elected officials in the state of Texas. This is the third largest community college system in Texas with 7 campuses (and 7 satellite locations), over 1700 employees, 60,000 students, and a budget of over 250 million dollars.
In these uncertain times, it takes a proven conservative leader to manage and lead our county. Part of our county management is the District Clerk’s office: essentially the coordinator of all court documents, judgments, collections, and jury summons. With a background in municipal management, business, and law, Chris Daniel is the proven conservative to lead our county in 2010. Chris Daniel—leading the new face of the Republican Party into the 21st century.
